Portrait of Dr. Marianna Zadov, DDS

Dr. Marianna Zadov, DDS is a dentist whose work emphasises helping patients understand their own oral health. This website is the educational resource associated with her.

It exists to explain dentistry in plain language: how common problems develop, what preventive care actually involves, what the usual treatment options are, and what a patient can reasonably ask before agreeing to a plan. It is not a dental practice website and does not offer clinical services.

Why Preventive Dentistry Matters

Dental disease is slow, quiet and largely preventable. Preventive care exists because the cheapest, least invasive moment to treat a problem is before it announces itself.

Practical guidance for everyday care and for appointments

The oral health section covers gum health, decay, sensitivity, dry mouth, breath and nutrition. The patient guides section is written to be read before or after a visit — preparing for an appointment, understanding a treatment plan, reading X-rays, recognising an emergency, and keeping things stable between visits.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers

See all frequently asked questions
How often should I see a dentist?
Twice a year is a common default, but the right interval depends on your decay history, gum health, habits and medical background — and it can change over time.
Is bleeding when I brush normal?
Generally no. Healthy gums do not usually bleed with proper brushing or flossing. Persistent bleeding is a sign of inflammation worth having assessed.
Does whitening work on crowns and fillings?
No. Whitening changes the colour of natural tooth structure only. Existing ceramic and composite restorations keep their original shade.
